For coaches, trainers, facilitators and L&D practitioners
You bring far more than the diagnostic. What are your clients still using six months on?
Your work continues between sessions.
Try it yourself first.
-
You and Priya work on how she opens hard conversations with her new team.
-
Priya prepares for Thursday's one-to-one with Sam.
You said Sam goes quiet when the deadline comes up. What might Thursday be asking of you? -
She makes sense of how it went, while it's fresh.
-
You send a one-to-one check-in. Priya answers four short questions about her week.
-
She arrives further along in her own thinking, and brings what she's chosen to bring.

The language you already trust
Energy and colour have been used for centuries to explain and develop people. Anyan gives that language somewhere to keep going after you leave.
- The ancient world
Four temperaments describe how people meet the world.
- The twentieth century
Psychologists and trainers turn the four into colours that teams can share.
- Workplaces today
Four colours are a common language in training rooms and leadership programmes.
- Anyan
The same four, as a reach that moves, with a companion for the conversations in between.
For trainers of any subject
Whatever you teach
Whatever your subject (leadership, sales, customer service, change), your clients put it to work in conversations. Anyan helps them prepare for those conversations and make sense of them afterwards, between your sessions. Your work keeps going, and nobody gets sorted into a type.
Setting direction for a team that's tired of change.
May ask for Pulse as much as Spark.
The second meeting, after the buyer has gone quiet.
May ask for Glow, and patience.
Telling a sponsor the deadline has moved.
May ask for Flow first, then Pulse.
The complaint that's really about something else.
May ask for Pulse before any answer.
Stopping an experienced colleague mid-task.
May ask for Spark, said with Glow.
The stakeholder who hasn't said yes or no.
May ask for Glow, then Flow.
The energies describe what a conversation is asking for, never what a person is. So Anyan works alongside any subject you teach or coach.
How it works
What your client gets, and what you get.
One link starts it. From then on, the work keeps going in the days between your sessions, and you can see it.
Send a link
Your client
Opens your link, creates their own free Anyan account and starts with full access, connected to you. Their account belongs to them.
You
Share a paid-up link from your coaching dashboard, or invite a whole team with one link. Invitations go out in your name.
A first conversation
Your client
Ten minutes with Yan in place of a questionnaire. They talk about real moments in their own words, and their reach comes from what they say.
You
See their reach before you next meet, so your first session starts from who they are now.
Between sessions
Your client
Yan is there before the conversations that matter and afterwards, at 10pm before the difficult meeting if that's when they need it. Yan notices, reflects and asks one question at a time.
You
Send a one-to-one check-in whenever you choose, with a note of context if you want one, and read their answers on your dashboard.
Every season
Your client
Every 90 days, a fresh reading shows how their reach has moved, with earlier readings in grey behind it. Each reading is a picture of now, with no better or worse shape.
You
Change you can see, and show over time to the people who invest in your work.
With a team
Development that keeps going after the workshop.
The away day goes well. Is Monday any different? With Anyan, the work you started on the day keeps going every week, for every person, and nobody gets sorted into a type.
- A shared picture. The team sees its shape on the Cynefin field (kuh-NEV-in, the ground it tends to spend its time on) and watches it move over the months. Nobody's own shape is shown unless they choose.
- A weekly check-in. A few minutes on what the week asked of people, and on Monday a readback with a thread or two and one question for the week ahead. It never names a person.
- Everyone prepared. Each person has Yan for the conversations that matter, before and after.
The team reached toward steadiness this week, wider than its natural shape, in a week of restructure news. The distance between the shapes is the reading, never a score.

Where Yan fits, and where you do
Yan is a companion between conversations. The coaching and the teaching are yours.
What Yan does
- Notices, reflects and asks one question at a time, then steps back.
- Remembers your client's context, so nothing starts from scratch.
- Is there late at night before the meeting they've been dreading.
- Never gives advice. The meaning-making stays with your client.
What you do
- The relationship, and the trust that comes with it.
- Your expertise in the subject, and how you teach it.
- Reading a group, and working with whatever comes up.
- The challenge, and the judgement about when to offer it.
- The deeper work, with individuals and with teams.
Your clients bring into your session what they've chosen to bring, and they arrive further along in their own thinking.
What you see, and what stays theirs
Built so your clients can tell Yan the truth.
You see
Their reach, and the answers they give in the check-ins you send. Enough to start every session from who they are now.
Theirs alone
Their conversations with Yan. You never see them, and neither does their employer. The system is built that way, rather than merely set that way.
Theirs to keep
Your client owns their reach. If they change job or stop working with you, it goes with them, and so does every season they've added.
Built by a practitioner
Built by someone who has stood where you stand.
Anyan was created by Simon Phillips, founder of The Change Maker Group: Master Accrediting Practitioner in two established profiling tools, Fellow of the RSA and the CIPD, and author of eight business books.
He built it after years of watching good profiling work end with the report: a trusted language, then nothing until the next workshop.
"Really very good experience, a very personal tone and response and some very intuitive and relatable questions that have been super helpful!"

Asked before, answered now
Your questions.
I train a technical or specialist subject. Is Anyan for me?
Yes. Whatever the subject, people put it to work in conversations: with colleagues, customers, managers and sponsors. Anyan helps your trainees prepare for those conversations and make sense of them afterwards, so your subject gets used between sessions as well as in them.
Will Yan replace me?
No. Yan is a companion between conversations, never a coach. It asks one question at a time and gives no advice. The relationship, the challenge and the judgement stay with you, and your clients arrive at your sessions further along in their own thinking.
Do I see my clients' conversations with Yan?
No. You see their reach and the answers they give in the check-ins you send. Their conversations with Yan stay theirs, which is why clients tell Yan the truth.
Who owns my clients' data?
Your client does. Their reach stays with them if they change job or stop working with you.
Does Anyan label people?
No. Everyone has access to all four energies. A reading shows where someone tends to reach right now. Each reading is a picture of now, with no better or worse shape, and it moves.
I'm accredited in another tool. Can I use both?
Yes. Anyan works alongside what you already use, and adds what happens between your sessions.
Do I need to be accredited in any other tools to get accredited to use Anyan?
No. Accreditation as an Anyan partner does not require you to use any other tools.
Do you work with charities?
Yes. Charity pricing is available, and we'll talk it through with you.
